Is it weird that at first I shipped Cubbyle?
And that I don't ship Flo x George, but ship Holly x George
This series is kinda underrated, don't you agree? It's rare for me to meet others who know of this series and actually read it. I wonder why?
if some one can answer any of the following questions...........
1)WHY did lucy leave lockwood and co?
2)Do lucy and lockwood finally become LOCKLYLE?or is that just shipping?
3)Does Lucy join Lockwood and co again?
4)Does Holly like Lockwood?
.........i'll be very gratefull
This is the official thread all about Anthony Lockwood! Love him? Hate him? Tell us your thoughts!
The train guard passes your ticket back to you, his eyes lingering on your rapier. You re-read the client’s letter.[1]
Lockwood was quick to offload the case onto you with instructions to look into it and lay some temporary defences.[2] Researching a Cathedral dating back nearly a thousand years is not easy. You’re going to have to do some leg work.[3]
You arrive in the shadow of Salisbury Cathedral just after noon, sweating and hungry. The Dean greets you with a sour look.[4] You see the aftermath of the flood everywhere, mud covers everything, tidal marks highlight the walls, debris everywhere.[5] You lay down an iron circle in the Nave and head to the first place any decent psychic investigator would - the crypt.[6]
You splash through mud beneath low arches. Coffins torn free from the walls setting their inhabitants adrift in the mud.[7] Piles of bones scatter the floor. How did Lockwood expect you to find the Source with so much history![8]
As the Dean’s letter said, there are 9 coffins, but, a shiver runs down your spine as you count, not 9, but 10 skulls.[9] All but one of the skulls is pristine, as if its owner died peacefully. The tenth has a long, nasty crack through the top.[10]
You place the tenth skull safely on a shelf but as you leave, you notice a small room tucked away off the main crypt.[11] Rusted tools line the walls and in the corner is a soggy cardboard box with the words ‘Billy’s Junk’ smudged down the front.[12] You sneak a peek inside, and pull out a crumpled note.[13]
Ouch. You bet the sting of that is still felt even after 5 years. That Emily sounds awful.[14]
As you leave you say hello to a man piling up the wrecked coffins, he just grunts but you notice his name tag. Billy.[15]
Time for tea. You head to the main cathedral and notice the local community’s bulletin board and trophy cabinet.[16] Tacked on the board is a yellowed missing poster for an girl named Emily Thurlow. It is dated 5 years ago.[17]
In the cabinet you see a dozen blue ribbons for a Millicent Wilkes including Best Biscuit & a ‘euphoric’ rosewater sponge.[18]
One of the ribbons has fallen down. You pull it out.[19]
Emily as in Billy’s Emily? You notice Mr Foley, the caretaker, hovering behind you and ask him what he knows of her.[20]
Foley sees a lot. You head to the cloister garden, to the cedar tree in the centre. You spot a rock hidden in the roots.[21] You pull the rock free. It has a sharp edge. With a gulp, you think it’s the right size to make that crack in the skull.[22]
You hear a noise. Billy enters the garden with a shovel to clear away some of the storm damage. You ask him about Emily.[23] “She been gone five years to the day and I ain’t sad about it. She’s poison that one.” He says, then he storms off with his shovel.[24]
You gaze over your shoulder ay the caretaker behind you, there sure is something shifty about him. You head over and ask him about Billy.[25]
You head up the wooden stairs inside the spire where the Dean said they heard moaning. It’s ricketing and you almost fall.[26] It’s covered in dust and cobwebs, spiders scitter everywhere. From the top you look down at the criss-cross wooden beams…[27] You stumble back. A fall from here would do serious damage. You see something wedged further down, it’s a broom handle![28]
You go to collect it and notice a bit of paper snagged on a nail.
Looks like sweet Mr Foley had motive too!
Billy, Millicent, or Mr Foley, who is responsible for the death of Emily Thurlow?[29]
You stand outside Johns & Sons Booksellers, hand on your rapier, and reread the case letter.[2]
This is your chance to impress Lockwood. You cracked the last case, the Spectre in the Pond, but this one won’t be so easy.[3] It’s 5:32pm, you have 45 minutes till sunset and the unseasonably chilly spring air will make temperature readings deceptive.[4] Johns locked up at 3pm but gave you a key with a warning, “stay away from the reference section,[5] those heavy books will knock you out when the ghost gets going. Stick to the paperbacks.” he said.[6] Silence and the musty smell of old paper welcomes you into the shop, everything seems to be in perfect alphabetical order.[7] You quickly explore. Stairs to your right lead up to the Children’s book balcony and behind the counter are three doors.[8] A store cupboard to the left, a cosy back-room at the centre, and to the right, the door leading to the basement.[9] While you still can, you set up a circle of iron chains in the Thriller section (safety first!) and check your equipment.[10] Rapier, a packet of custard creams, a silver net to neutralise the Source, iron filings and salt bombs. All set.[11] You munch on a custard cream and take some readings jotting them down as you go.[12]
In the basement, creaking boards and a swinging lightbulb turn the cold, dank, square room ghoulish.[13] The basement is empty and featureless except for, on one wall, a large crack running through from floor to ceiling.[14] There's brick dust on the floor which means it happened recently. You check and mark the temperature.[15]
You shiver but it is a basement in an old building. It’s too early for ghosts… time to head back upstairs.[16] Johns Jr wrote about an encyclopaedia of birds. You check the reference section but there's a gap where the book should be.[17] You find the book behind the counter, beneath a stack of newspapers.[18] Inside the book, on the page for the White-Throated Dipper bird, you find a crumpled note.[19]
The front door bell rings and you almost jump out of your skin. Standing in the middle of the room is a tall, blonde woman.[20] She introduces herself as Ingrid Hanssen, a property developer who is building the office block next door.[21] With Ingrid gone, you check the time. 5:48pm. Temp: 9 degrees. So a man disappeared and Senior died around the same time...[22] The parcel's postmark says Norway and in the book there is an angrily crossed out inscription.[23]
So Barney sent Ingrid a book of poems and she returned it after he disappeared. And ‘Eddie’ had a crush on Ingrid…[24] Maybe Eddie was jealous and got rid of Barney so he’d have Ingrid to himself? But she left anyway...[25] You hear a strange noise near the front door, then THUD, a book falls off the display table.[26] You edge closer. It’s a law book and it’s sitting in the middle of a square of floorboard that doesn’t quite look right.[27] It looks less worn than the rest. In a gap between the boards, you think you see a glint of gold chain, maybe a bracelet?[28] The money tray pops open with a DING! ! And the book falls to the floor. While you try to calm yourself, you notice…[29] Stuffed at the back of the cash tray is a small bundle of paper. You pull it out and unravel it.[30]
Barney took money to buy a bracelet. Maybe he was going to give it to Ingrid before she left but never got the chance?[31] You run to your iron circle as books fly off the shelves. They start to build the stack in the centre of the room…[32] There IS something down there! You throw a salt bomb at the books, draw your rapier and head to the basement.[33] You quickly examine the crack in the wall. It has disrupted the earth at the base. Freezing cold grips you. 3 degrees.[34] You dig away the dirt and find what you expected. Bones. Then, you feel the awful sadness that means a spirit is near.[35] You struggle to your feet, your limbs weak with cold, and there, out of the corner of your eye, you see a figure. A man.[36] The ghost doesn’t have full power yet. You slash at him with your rapier and he disappears. You run from the basement.[37] Upstairs you gather up all your gear and burst out onto the pavement. That ghost is stronger than you thought.[38] You’ll need to do some research before you go back. You head to the archives and look up Johns & Sons Booksellers.[39] You find Johns Senior, when he died, was found in the basement of the shop but that he was buried in a local cemetery...[40] Those aren’t his bones in the basement! The ghost’s actions only seem to make sense if the ghost is Barney Gibbs...[41] ...Norway. And Ingrid Hanssen was at school in Oslo, Norway, so the ghost could be triggered by her 'dropping by'.[42] But who killed him? A once-jealous Eddie? The accuser of thievery; Johns Senior? Or jilted love interest Ingrid?[43]
Who killed Gibbs? What is the source? And where did it all happen?[44]

Standing outside 45 Tatchell Close, hand gently resting on your rapier, you remind yourself it's the details that matter.[1] You read the letter Lockwood gave you, "nice easy one to start you off" he said, quaffing a pastry.[2]
With the sun still high in the sky you head to the front door. Ghost Miles won't show himself for hours yet.[3] The door slowly swings in, the house is empty. You quickly step over the threshold and Listen.[4] Nothing. You breathe a little easier and head to the kitchen; what are the chances aunt Addy had a biscuit tin?[5] You find yourself a not-too-stale bourbon biscuit inside an old teapot and start looking around.[6] There's a big stack of papers with an expensive fountain pen with an inch layer of dust onto.[7] You blow the dust off into a cloud and the bright red type on the last letter shows through.[8]
So Hayes & Henderson Accounts were in financial troubles, that's interesting. What else can you find in this house?[9] In the living room you indulge in your fourth biscuit whilst looking at the photos hung on the floral patterned walls.[10] An old photo is labelled 'Miles and Bill, hard at work', Miles is using his fountain pen.[11] So that must be Bill Hayes, the business partner. I wonder what happened to him?[12] Next you head upstairs to the bedroom, there's no pictures here, in fact there's no sign of Miles at all.[13] You pull open the bedside drawer, a little thud sounds as a wedding ring slides forward hitting the wood.[14] Underneath is a letter but it's been ripped off. Why would Addy do that?[15]
You move over to the window which looks down onto the back garden. It is overgrown and gloomy.[16] The garden over the hedge however, is stunning. There's someone out there fiercely weeding the flower beds.[17] Out into the garden, the grass is tall and has swallowed up the path. Except for a small ditch at the back. A pond maybe?[18] Next to the would-be pond an ornamental angel lies face down in the dirt.[19] "Finally trying to get rid of old Miles are you? Good luck! He'll never leave his precious garden!" A voice laughs.[20] You climb up the hedge and call out but the lady has already disappeard inside her house.[21] You check your watch, you think there's still time before Curfew to do some digging in the library and then report back.[22] In the dusty records you find an article mentioning Miles and a rivalry with a neighbour.[23]
You leave the library, heading to Portland Row. You linger in front of the iron bar thinking...[24] To deal with the ghost of Miles you need to have a theory of what happened. What do you tell Lockwood?[25]
That's all the clues! What do you think ghost of Miles' Source is, where was he killed and by who?[26]
